Layrd is building an AI operating layer for independent medical practices in the United States. The initial wedge is pre-visit chart preparation: before a physician sees a patient, Layrd reads the patient’s longitudinal record, pulls in faxes and external documents, extracts relevant information, drafts the chart, and writes the prepared work back into the electronic health record for physician approval. The broader ambition is larger than a medical scribe. Layrd wants to become the system of work for the independent practice, where chart preparation, ambient documentation, ordering, refills, coding, prior authorization, referrals, and follow-up are connected through one shared understanding of the patient.
